Ohhhh Happy Day.......

Yesterday was the first day of school! Yes, it was a happy day! Hailee was excited to start 3rd grade, but she wasn't excited when she found out she was in the portables! Oh, and in case you are all wondering, apparently none of your votes on her outfit for the first day mattered, because she didn't go with any of them! Crazy girl. Thanks for your input, anyway! After we got her off to school, we came home and got Carson ready for Kindergarten. He was so excited! I think he was more excited about riding the bus than anything. He was so cute, getting on the bus and then getting in line to go to his classroom. We said our goodbyes (well, actually, I did. He wasn't paying attention to me at all!) and off he went. Austin, Bella, and I headed home to put Bella down for a nap. I was hoping to put my house back together after the summer break, but poor Austin was so bored that I ended up playing games with him until it was time to get the kids. They both had a good day at school, although Hailee seemed a bit tired. It's nice to be back on a schedule though, and hopefully soon it will cool off here!

Hailee and Bailey's annual 1st day of school picture. Last year they showed up wearing the exact same outfit! It was hilarious. typical Austin in the background! He wasn't about to let me get a picture with Carson alone!

Hooray for the ice cream truck.....and tomatoes?

Every Tuesday night, the ice cream truck comes around our neighborhood. So of course we have to support our local businesses. (why didn't I think of having an ice cream truck? The lady has to be making a killing off of all the kids in the valley!) The kids in the neighborhood go crazy when they hear the music coming. Even Bella get's excited. When she hears the music, she comes to me and holds out her hand for money. Then she follows all the kids to the stop sign and waits for the truck to come. Her favorite thing is a snow cone. Another one of her favorite things to eat right now are tomatoes. She will go to the fridge and want me to open it so she can get a tomato. She will just sit there happy as can be, eating her tomato whole! Yum.

Yummy Snow Cone! Getting a bit messy Uh-oh, where did it go? (must have fallen out while running through the sprinklers)
Big bite!

School Shopping with dad

It was always a tradition growing up that my dad took us girls school shopping every year. I have fond memories of that. Eventually, we learned a few tricks like picking out several outfits and saying in our sweet little voices "I don't know which one to get, I like them all." He would say "just get them all then." I think it was more out of impatience rather than him wanting to get us all the outfits, but we didn't care....whatever worked! So Kyle has carried on that tradition with Hailee. He takes her school shopping every year and she loves it. It's kinda their time to spend together, plus the fact that he get's her alot more than mom would doesn't hurt! He has great taste, so it doesn't worry me at all having him take her shopping. They have a great time together and she calls him her "shopping buddy." These are memories she'll have forever just like I do. Here are the outfits they got...she wants to know which one you think she should wear on the first day of school. outfit #1

"Wife Beater"

I keep forgetting to post this, and I know it's something that Austin will get a good laugh out of when he's older. So, one day, Austin dissappeared for a while. The next thing I knew, he was standing in front of me with a cheezy grin, wearing one of Hailee's cami's (tank top) Anyways, I was like "Austin, why in the heck are you wearing your sisters clothes? Is there something you need to tell me?" He replied with "mom, boys wear these tank tops too. I saw a guy wearing a tank top and he had cool tattoos." Great!! Later that same day, we were taking Hailee to a friends house and low and behold, Austin spots a teenager on his 4-wheeler wearing a "wife beater tank" So he says, look mom, he's wearing a tank top and he looks so sweet!" Lovely! I was telling Kyle about it later that night, and what does he do? He totally eggs it on, thinking it's funny! He actually took Austin to Wal Mart, and bought him some "wife beaters." Now Austin wears them all the time. The funny thing is, he kinda looks cute! Don't worry, the tattoo is from a birthday party he went to...it's fake! For now anyways!

Gymnastics Camp

My mom, dad, Hailee, Bella and I all spent this last week in Provo while Hailee attended BYU Gymnastics camp. We had such a great time. Hailee had a really great experience at the camp. She was able to learn alot of skills that she will be able to use here at home in her gym. They worked them hard everyday, and by the last day, she was so tired and didn't want to get out of bed! She met some really fun girls (and some not so fun girls) and her coach was one of the BYU gymnasts from New Zealand. I was really proud of her because it was totally out of her comfort zone to do something like that where she didn't know anyone. Besides gymnastics, we kept busy all week shopping, walking around campus, going to temple square, and more shopping. It was so fun to be able to spend time with my mom and dad. Thank you guys so much for taking us up there and for doing so much for us. I know Hailee appreciated it! I also want to say thank you to Kim, Lisa, and Jessica and Wade for taking my boys during the week so we could go. I really do appreciate it. I owe you all! Here are some pics. of our week
